Gary Yeomans Ford Palm Bay is proud to partner with Brevard Public Schools to make a significant difference in the lives of our local students as they prepare for the new school year. From July 22nd to August 1st, we are hosting the Fill-A-Ford event to collect essential school supplies for students in need. Community members are encouraged to drop off donations at Gary Yeomans Ford Palm Bay or any of our partner locations, including Florida Eye Associates, Mack Technologies, Launch Credit Union, Faith Lutheran Church of Merritt Island, The Wine Lady, Boeing, and Supply Zone For Teachers.

Starting the school year with the necessary supplies is crucial for a student’s success. Having access to basic items like notebooks, pencils, and crayons helps students stay organized, engage in lessons, and complete assignments efficiently. It also boosts their confidence and readiness to learn, setting a positive tone for the entire school year.

However, the cost of school supplies can be a burden for many families. On average, parents spend over $100 per child on back-to-school supplies, which can be a significant financial strain, especially for families with multiple children. Moreover, many teachers often step in to bridge the gap, spending their own money on classroom supplies to ensure their students have what they need. On average, teachers spend around $500 of their own money each year on supplies, highlighting the pressing need for community support.

Our Fill-A-Ford event aims to alleviate these financial pressures by providing students with the tools they need to succeed. Requested items include notebooks, highlighters, pencils, Crayola crayons, composition notebooks, copy paper, pens, 3-ring binders, Post-it notes, 2-pocket folders, rulers, Elmer’s glue sticks, erasers, pencil pouches, and index cards. Every donation, big or small, will help make a positive impact on our students’ education and ease the burden on both families and teachers.

Thank you for your generous support in helping us create a brighter future for our students. Together, we can ensure that every child starts the school year equipped for success.
