The Avenue Viera Donates Fountain Change to Brevard Schools Foundation
Viera, Fla. – Making a wish at The Avenue Viera’s fountain now also will help to grant the wishes of Brevard County Schools. The Avenue Viera is donating the change collected in its fountain, located in the center’s Central Park, to the Brevard Schools Foundation, which provides resources for teachers to undertake special projects not supported through existing budgets and programs. With The Avenue Viera’s first donation, $1,700 collected from April to December 2009, Brevard Schools Foundation created a scholarship fund for graduating seniors, provided headphones to schools for computer-based testing and will address other critical school needs.
“The fountain has always been a popular meeting place at The Avenue Viera,” said Pamela Marticke – marketing manager, The Avenue Viera. “We’re pleased to be able to put all of the wishes made at the fountain to good use and give back to the Brevard community.”
Established in 1987, the Brevard Schools Foundation is a non-profit organization that matches community resources with the needs of local schools. It provides teacher grants, student scholarships, supplies and more.
“We appreciate having this fund that we can go to as needs arise,” said Lynn Clifton – executive director, Brevard Schools Foundation. “The Avenue Viera has been a wonderful partner to our foundation and Brevard County schools, and we look forward to a successful relationship.”
