BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Recognizing a wonderful education their children received in Brevard Public Schools, Dr. Ravindran Palaniyandi and his wife, Ambika, presented a check for $25,000 to Brevard Schools Foundation at Tuesday night’s Brevard County School Board meeting.
The gift will help defray educational expenses for students in Titusville High School’s Health and Human Services Academy, offer classroom grants for teachers of students with disabilities and Head Start students, and provide scholarships, mentors and hope to Titusville High School students through the Take Stock in Children program.
“We are enormously blessed, we see the distress and this is one way to give a tiny bit to society,” said Dr. Palaniyandi. “We are honored to be part of the educational system.”
“We are grateful that the Palaniyandi’s have chosen us as the beneficiary of this generous gift,” said Janice Kershaw, Brevard Schools Foundation Executive Director. “Titusville has been particularly hard hit by the economy and with the support of individuals like the Palaniyandis, we are able to continue to strengthen educational opportunities that serve our students in that area.”
The parents of five children who graduated from Titusville High School, the Palaniyandis’ charity has extended to numerous organizations in the community, having donated more than $2 million over the past several years. Their hope with this gift is to make a positive impact in the lives of students.
Brevard Schools Foundation directly supports Brevard County public schools. It provides scholarships, school supplies, mentoring programs, Space Week, classroom grants and other direct support designed to enhance education.
The foundation welcomes financial contributions or in-kind gifts of goods or services.
