A Partnership Celebration of the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations (Consortium) in Orlando October 6 provided a great opportunity to surprise Brevard Schools Foundation President Janice Kershaw with special recognition for her leadership in the statewide organization.

Jean Van Smith, Consortium Vice-Chair (and representative from Seminole County) presents the Consortium Champion Award to Janice Kershaw, President/CEO of Brevard Schools Foundation.

The Jim McKenzie Consortium Champion Award is presented annually to a local education foundation leader who exemplifies the Consortium’s values of collaboration, connection, leadership and excellence.  Through exemplifying a spirit of collegiality and sharing their time and resources with colleagues, these education foundation leaders elevate the work of their colleagues and forward the statewide movement for Florida’s local education foundations.

“We know how tirelessly our local education foundation leaders work to lead their organization, so when they also commit themselves to helping their peers grow and improve it is particularly meaningful,” said Consortium President Mary Chance. “Janice has been a steadfast leader for our group for many years as Past Board Chair and Legislative Chair. She remains engaged in Consortium leadership and in supporting her colleagues across the state with program development and sharing of best practices.”
