As students settle into the school year, healthy routines can support attendance, focus, confidence, and success in the classroom. Regular sleep, nutritious meals, physical activity, and preventive care all play an important role in a child’s overall well-being.

Annual wellness visits allow health care providers to monitor growth and development and address concerns early. Vision and hearing screenings can identify issues that may affect reading, communication, and participation at school. Routine dental visits help prevent cavities, while mental wellness check-ins give families an opportunity to discuss stress, friendships, behavior, and emotional health.

Brevard Schools Foundation is proud to partner with Florida KidCare to help families learn about affordable health and dental coverage for children from birth through age 18. Enrollment is open year-round, there is no application fee, and many working families may qualify. Families complete one application, and Florida KidCare matches each child with the coverage option that best fits the family’s circumstances.
