The Brevard Schools Foundation is one of seven local education foundations in the state to receive grant funds from the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations (CFEF) this school year to support school district efforts to identify and scale effective teaching practices.
“Teaching quality and effective teaching practices are consistently identified as the most important school-based factors in increasing student achievement,” said Mary Chance, president of the CFEF. “Local education foundations already support and recognize teachers in so many ways. Our goal with this grant is to encourage them to work in partnership with their school districts to focus on discovering and developing the teaching practices that can have the greatest impact on student learning.”
“By focusing on support for new teachers, we hope to create a pipeline to mastery that will ultimately benefit the students in our community,” said Janice Kershaw, President/CEO, Brevard Schools Foundation.
Brevard Schools Foundation received $5,000 in support for their local initiative, funded by CFEF partners Wells Fargo and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
