Viera, FL – The Brevard Schools Foundation Scholarship program is actively seeking judges to read and score scholarship applications from graduating seniors planning to continue their education.
Each year, with the support of many generous donors, Brevard Schools Foundation provides scholarships to deserving students to help them achieve their dream of a college education. Scholarships range from $250.00 to $3,000.00. Some are multi-year awards, like the Grumman Retiree Club Scholarship, in which income eligible students who are studying in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) field and maintain a 3.0 GPA may receive awards for an additional three years. Individual scholarships are published in a Scholarship Opportunities booklet published by the Foundation and distributed to students, along with the application form. This year more than 55 scholarships are available totaling nearly $70,000. It is expected that more than 400 applications will be submitted this year.
Judging applications is a wonderful opportunity to see just how many special students there are in our public schools. Judging will take place at the Brevard School Board building at 2700 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Viera, FL 32940, in the Facilities Conference Room, Monday, March 30 – Friday, April 3 (unless completed earlier) from 9am – 3:30pm each day.
