Viera, FL (August, 2016) – Andretti Thrill Park has donated a cumulative total of $75,000 to benefit public education through its partnership with Brevard Schools Foundation. Andretti Thrill Park and Brevard Schools Foundation formed a partnership five years ago when Andretti Thrill Park created discount Fun Cards as a vehicle for contributing to Brevard Schools. Each time someone uses their card to purchase admissions at Andretti Thrill Park, $2 is returned to Brevard Schools Foundation as a donation.
“We had no idea how successful the Fun Card program would become and how quickly $2 can add up and grow” said Janice Kershaw, Executive Director of Brevard Schools Foundation, “It has helped the Foundation build capacity to serve our students, teachers and schools and has proven that our challenges to education can be overcome when businesses and individuals take that step to do something positive.”
Funds from the Fun Card donations go towards various Brevard Schools Foundation programs that support student achievement, empower teachers and drive innovation in Brevard Public Schools.
These programs include:
Take Stock in Children, a drop-out prevention, scholarship and mentoring program for low-income middle and high school students.
Bright Ideas Classroom Grants, a grant program that encourages teachers to implement creative projects in areas of need where school budgets fall short.
Supply Zone for Teachers, a school supply resource center that provides free school supplies to eligible teachers to meet the needs of the most economically vulnerable students in Brevard County.
