Congratulations to Michael Pierce, a Take Stock in Children graduate and current mentor, who ran 48 miles in 48 hours to raise money for the Take Stock program.

Special thanks to all of the donors and supporters who cheered Michael on as he completed this amazing feat!

A few words from Michael:

I am a Take Stock graduate. Before I became involved with Take Stock, my life was at a crossroads. So many of the things that we all take for granted, such as having parents with a loving relationship, a safe home and my own bed to sleep in were things that I did not have in my life.

Fortunately, I entered the Take Stock in Children program in 9th grade and turned my life around. Today, I am an engineer, husband to a wonderful wife and proud home owner. None of this would be possible without the dedicated mentors and caring staff at Take Stock of Brevard.

So many kids have struggles that seem insurmountable—I know what that’s like because I have walked in their shoes. I laced up my running shoes to raise funds for the Take Stock kids. But mostly I am hope that I showed these young people that with support and perseverance they too can cross the finish line.

Thank you to everyone who supported my efforts!
