A signature program of Brevard Schools Foundation, Take Stock in Children is a college scholarship program designed to identify and assist motivated, well-deserving, low-income middle and high school students. It powerfully impacts the major elements of that young child’s life: family, school and community.
The singular focus of Take Stock is changing children’s lives, one child at a time.
Established in Brevard County in 1996, Take Stock in Children is a drop-out prevention, scholarship and mentoring program for deserving, at-risk middle and high school students enrolled in the Brevard Public School system who desire to attend college.
The mission of Take Stock in Children is to passionately promote personal growth, self-responsibility, and academic success for deserving low-income children by providing a unique set of resources including mentors, scholarships, long-term support, student advocacy, and a guaranteed educational opportunity. Upon successful completion of the program and high school, students receive a two-year college scholarship.
Take Stock in Children of Brevard County boasts a 98% graduation rate and a 94% college entrance rate for students who enter the program.
