Cape Canaveral, FL — IAP Worldwide Services President Spence Wickham presented a check in the amount of $30,000 to the Brevard Schools Foundation at the Company’s 2013 Partners in Education Charity Golf Classic at Duran Golf Club on October 5. Receiving the check on behalf of the Brevard Schools Foundation was Dr. Brian Binggeli, Superintendent of Schools of Brevard County.
“A strong education is the cornerstone of our business community, and IAP is proud of its long history of supporting educational excellence in Brevard County,” said President Wickham. “The money raised at this annual tournament directly benefits students and teachers in our community through the Brevard Schools Foundation by providing needed resources at a time when funding for school budgets is tight and many families in our community are experiencing difficult economic circumstances.”
IAP has been a business and education partner in Brevard County for more than 20 years, actively partnering with schools and sponsoring many county-wide programs through the Foundation. The Company focuses on promoting and strengthening academic achievement in the areas of math, science, reading, technology, and music. IAP also participates in the Foundation’s Back-to-School Safari Supply Drive at the Brevard Zoo, in-service teachers workshops, Space Week, and awards events applauding Brevard County educators and employees.
IAP employees serve as liaisons between the Company and its partnership schools, meeting with the School Advisory Committees at each school and offering input to their School Improvement Plans. They work with the schools to assess their needs and then assist them in submitting grant requests for consideration by the Company’s education committee.
