Things like toothpaste\, deodorant\, soap\, socks\, and feminine hygiene supplies are products that homeless and low-income families simply cannot afford. The heart-breaking results can be low self-esteem\, embarrassment\, and shame often leading to isolation and feelings of hopelessness for these youth. \nTo help alleviate this issue\, the 3rd Annual “Light the Lantern” hosted by Brevard Schools Foundation (BSF)\, along with The Viera Company and other community partners\, will be Thursday\, December 8 from 5-7 pm at the school board parking lot located at 2700 Judge Fran Jamison Way\, Viera. \n \nThe community can rally around this cause and bring donations of hygiene and personal products to this drive-through event. Participants will enjoy a luminary trail adorned with special holiday sparkle as they pull up to the drop-off location. \nSuggested items include new packages of soap\, shampoo\, deodorant\, toothpaste\, toothbrushes\, feminine hygiene products\, body wash\, and socks. Monetary donations will also be accepted. \nAll donated items will be distributed to students from low-income households or facing homelessness through the Supply Zone for Teachers\, a service of Brevard Schools Foundation. DESCRIPTION:Supply Zone to Distribute Free School Supplies \n  \nBREVARD COUNTY\, FL – The Supply Zone for Teachers will host the 19th Annual Back-to-School Blast-Off on Saturday\, July 31st from 9:00 am until noon or until supplies run out.  The event will be held on the campus of Clearlake Education Center\, 1225 Clearlake Road\, Cocoa.  The first 2\,500 students in attendance will receive free backpacks\, school supplies\, books\, and other necessities. \nIn order to participate\, families are required to bring the students with them.  Only students who are physically present will receive supplies; adults will not be given supplies for students who do not attend.  Students must be enrolled in Brevard Public Schools to participate\, and they must have been recipients of the Free or Reduced Lunch Program.  Students will be served on a first come\, first served basis – no pre-registration is required. \nThis will be an outdoor\, in-person event.  Staff and volunteers will take precautions to avoid the spread of COVID-19\, including using hand sanitizer and cleaning high-contact surfaces. \nThis event is made possible by The Highland Mint. SUMMARY:The Supply Zone Volunteer Guild Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Supply Zone Volunteer Guild will hold its first meeting on Wednesday\, February 17th at the Supply Zone for Teachers located in Clearlake Education Center.   \nThe Supply Zone has given 22\,195 books to hundreds of teachers\, classrooms and students since its doors opened in 2014. The Volunteer Guild is a club that provides volunteer support to the Supply Zone and it growing library. Club members will meet on the third Wednesday of each month from 1 pm to 3 pm. \nBrevard Schools Foundation is the nonprofit\, direct-support organization for Brevard Public Schools. The Supply Zone for Teachers is a resource center that distributes free school supplies to teachers and students at high poverty schools. This free “store” is stocked entirely through donations and staffed predominantly by volunteers. \nThe Supply Zone for Teachers is centrally located in the Clearlake Education Center at 1225 Clearlake Road in Cocoa\, Florida. We are seeking dependable\, creative\, long-term volunteers to join the Guild.  Members will be responsible for library beautification as well as special events. Join us on Wednesday\, February 17th at 1:00 pm to see if the SZ Guild is right for you! SUMMARY:Uno's Pizza Supply Zone for Teachers Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, March 20\, 2015\, the Brevard Schools Foundation’s Supply Zone for Teachers will partner with the Uno’s of Melbourne to raise money for local students and teachers in need. On this date\, we will host both lunch and dinner at the restaurant\, and a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Supply Zone. \nHere’s how it works: on the day of the Dough Raiser\, you can dine in\, get take out\, or make a bulk delivery order anytime between 11 am and midnight. When it’s time to pay for your food\, you willpresent your Dough Raiser Donation Ticket. A percentage of your check will be donated to the Supply Zone. If less than $1\,000 in sales is generated\, the Supply Zone will receive 15% of the earnings. If we can generate more than $1\,000 in sales\, the Supply Zone will receive 20% of the sales. \nRepresentatives from Brevard Schools Foundation will be present at the restaurant from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm and again from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. You can stop by during these times to learn more about the Supply Zone and to participate in a 50/50 raffle. \nYou have to eat\, so why not enjoy a delicious meal at Uno’s and support local schools at the same time?
