Freedom 7 Elementary School of International Studies and Surfside Elementary have been named 2014 National Blue Ribbon Schools; two out of the nine honored in Florida.
Since 1982, the U.S. Department of Education’s National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has recognized public and private elementary, middle and high schools where students either achieve very high learning standards or are making notable improvements in closing the achievement gap. The two BPS schools were designated as Exemplary High Performing Schools, which are among Florida’s highest performing schools as measured by state assessments or nationally normed tests. Student subgroup performance and high school graduation rates are also at the highest levels.
